this was such a fun styled shoot that shannon of periwinkle events invited me to participate in. she did such a good job putting everything together & making sure everything looked stunning.

this gorgeous shoot took place at the heisen house in battle ground, washington . just 45 minutes north of portland, or 2.5 hours south of seattle, the heisen house is such a beautiful space for a wedding or any private event. with a gorgeous vineyard, which is the perfect landscape for viewing & celebrating, and also for making your own wine! plus, i love how there’s a covered area & and an outdoor area, so you can are taken care of no matter what the weather is. and did you see that cute greenhouse?

my main take away from this shoot was: PIE BAR. that pie bar by pacifie pie co. is gorgeous & looks stunning. i mean, look at those little bit size pie-pieces that are there, i had never seen anything like that til this shoot. talk about CUTE & TASTY. i had a lot of fun writing the pie labels in white with my nib & ink, so you get that full calligraphy look. i think those mini pie bites would be perfect for guests! whenever i’m a guest at a wedding, i can never sit down long enough to eat a whole dessert properly, so a pie bite would be just up my alley.

but enough about this gorgeous shoot at this amazing venue with a very talented team! let’s finally talk about the STATIONERY. i made this custom wedding suite for the shoot, i named it ‘the kailey suite’. i knew that this shoot was going to be outdoors & feature some gorgeous florals, i sketched a floral bouquet that i used as the main hero image to tie all the pieces together.

on the main invite & the envelope liner, the main bouquet was printed in a lovely deep maroon, which tied into the gorgeous florals, the tasty pie, and the crisp wine that they used for the big day. i offset this with the mustard yellow lyric piece that i included. the lyric piece has one of the couple’s favorite songs, i took the words and wrote them out in my signature ‘loose’ calligraphy style. i trimmed the edges of the pieces so the words are covering the whole piece & falling off the edge. it’s impractical, but very romantic (which is how i prefer things).

i used a light gray for the envelope to bring all the pieces & colors together. all in all, i love how this came together! it was fun envisioning a custom suite for this couple at the heisen house. i did calligraphy for the guest address, which also is a nod to the lyric sheet i made. i love the suite photographed with the florals - so gorgeous!
