a late thanksgiving

looking at these old pictures is so sweet, i was so young & making stuff & it was so fun!

so these were thanksgiving cards that i made, oh wow, i thought it was only 5 years ago, but it was SEVEN years ago! lol how embarassing. well, nothing says TIME FLIES like that.

i think this was the first year that we had moved into this rental in SE after four years of being married & leaving in an apartment in NW portland. we loved being on the main floor of a cute house & i adored all of the sweet sunlight that i got through those amazing windows.

so this first thanksgiving in our new place was a big deal. we hosted a huge friendsgiving party and i think that got us off to a bad start with our downstairs neighbor (oopsie), but the memories from the fun are great! i remember we got that huge table from someone off craiglist, they built 20 of those tables for their wedding and were selling them off. we used that table for 4 years, until we moved to our current place which is unfortunately, way too small for that table. now it sits in my parent’s backyard, so it’s still getting some use!

anyways, i made this cute printout for thanksgiving dinner. the idea was that you could give one to each guest and that they could write what they were thankful for and keep it as a reminder for them throughout the holidays & into the new year. they would be great for any thanksgiving dinner as a little icebreaker activity to get your guests warmed up to each other, or actually for any dinner where you want to slow down & take the time to remember gratitude.

i love this picture of the bookshelf. what a time stamp! i love how effortless it looks, so charming! that bookcase is now in the bedroom of my two sons, both who weren’t born at this time. i can’t believe i was burning candles at that time! and green candles, wow! my 18 month old son just destroyed that rubik’s cube a few months ago, he literally pulled it apart into pieces, and i had had that cube since middle school when i learned to solve it! we probably have most of those books still, except for the great gatsby & the yellow book, which was more of a coffee table book & i never read it. my sister mad that mason jar on the top shelf, it was a bunch of icebreaker questions, such a sweet gift! where is it, did i really get rid of it? how heartless of me. let me tell you, that marie kondo-decluttering really did something to me. i don’t know how i’ll feel about it when i die. and last of all, look at those plants! WOW. that fiddle leaf tree slowly died in that corner, it wasn’t enough light for it. and the monstera lived, until we moved out of that place, and then it died haha. love to see them looking so happy hear.

anyways, wow! what a tangent i went on. if you’re still reading & interested in the thanksgiving download, i’ll link it here. let me know if you use these for your next thanksgiving or any dinner, i’d love to hear about i!

take care, sugar pumpkins!
