modern calligraphy workshop at tea bar nw in portland, oregon: june 15th, 2019

i can’t believe i never shared these pictures! but honestly, i can. tbh, i am super behind in my blog posts, so you are going to see a lot of old posts that i never got around to posting - let’s think of it like a scrapbook with sweet memories. it’s a blast from the past! and never has a blast from the past been so sentimental, it is so fun to see these pictures of a modern calligraphy workshop in portland, oregon at tea bar. it is pretty wild to think about at this point, a bunch of strangers meeting up? in a public place? we all look so care free & young! haha, #TBT for real.

this was such a fun workshop, my little sis was at the calligraphy workshop. she was the first person i ever hired for everglow handmade (hi rebekah!). it was fun to teach her the basics at this workshop at tea bar. we went over modern calligraphy basics, went over the dip pen & ink set-up, how to prep your nip, how to from the calligraphy letters & how they are made up of basic strokes, and once you get those foundational strokes down you can tackle the calligraphy alphabet with a lot more ease. these workshops were such a treat! and literally, thanks to the sweet drinks that from tea bar.

i loved doing calligraphy workshops at tea bar. their cafes are SO beautiful, really bare + minimal with stunning design elements - that floor! and they always have the biggest windows to let in the most wonderful natural light. i have missed saturday mornings there! there perfect place to learn some modern calligraphy.

these pics make me ache for a simpler time. it actually makes me so sad to think about everything that has happened between these pics & now, these past two years have been a lot for everybody everywhere. BIG HUGS to you & yours from me. we have gotten through a lot & we will continue to get through it! it is tough & it is hard, but we have each other & we can do this. see the good & celebrate it. that phrase has gotten me through so much! i’m so glad that i chose it as my business motto, it has carried me through so much - in all aspects of life.

this workshop was really fun, i met sadie of vareus events. she is a magical wedding/event planner & floral designer in the portland-area. if you are looking for someone to work with, i would highly recommend her! she takes care of her clients so well.
