crafts: handmade wacom tablet case

i've been dying to make my own wacom tablet case ever since i've gotten this baby! i've been using the 'case' that the tablet came with, which was more like a fitted thin bag and not a case at all. i would take it with me and always worry about the cord falling out! so, i gathered up what i had in the house and sewed together this wacom tablet case which i'm really proud of!

this case used very simple materials. i used some fleece/felt filler, muslin, a button, fancy cord, thread and a needle. you can of course choose your own fabrics, and i'll talk more about them really soon.

i covered the fleece with the muslin by sewing it onto both sides so i would have a clean looking case. obviously, this step isn't necessary as you can bypass using the fleece and just use your fabric for the case. this step was ideal for me because the fleece is nice padding for the wacom tablet, and the muslin was too thin to provide the support i wanted on it's own.

once i covered the fleece with the muslin, i folded it as i wanted the case to be. the bottom part is where your tablet will sit and the top will be the case cover that folds over. you can adjust this however you like, in case you want your case big enough to hold your notebook as well (which is something i wish i had thought of earlier!).

i sewed the sides of the bottom fold together using a zig zag stitch on the very edge. i then hand sewed my button in the middle of bottom pouch, sewing it only to the top layer, and i managed to hide the stitching within the fleece, so you can't see it on the inside. this button is what your fancy cord will wrap around, so make sure that it is below where your top cover will fold over.

i then hand sewed this fancy embellished this fancy cord string to the top fold of the case, also making sure not to go all the way through to the other side of the fabric.

and there it is! you now have your own wacom tablet case. i have loved using mine since i made it. it's so nice just to throw the cord and the pen in with the case and not have to worry about anything! if you make this case, be sure to share your pictures!
